Udupi, Mar 28: Frustrated by circulation of CD involving him the sex scandal two times Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat announced his decision not to contest in the ensuing election on March 28. Bhat,who has already perturbed by all these sex allegations unnecessarily being circulated by his enemies to tarnish his image conveyed his decision about his decision not to contest to certain TV Channels on March 28.In view of not to tarnish or create any embarrassment the party on account of this sorry episode he has taken this decision he explained.
In the past also there were opposition from certain RSS leaders about his candidature from Udipi in the coming election as they were apprehensive that the opposition might link the allegation about his involvement in his wife Padmapriya’s mysterious disappearance and subsequent suicide at New Delhi apartment four years ago and thereby tarnish the party image.
After gaining the access to CD in question by several TV channels which reportedly contain sex scenes that they are not supposed to air. Bhat said, he too viewed the said CD last night and told that he will hold extensive discussions with party workers in this connection at appropriate time.
He emotionally said that he has been deeply hurt and humiliated, surprised and shocked by this heinous attempt at my character assassination. He said my party adversaries are behind this CD.I have not committed any mistake and certain groups deliberately trying to dent my reputation and finish of my political career. This is nothing but a political conspiracy he lamented.In the past too attempts were made to end my political career but I have survived against all these hurdles because of popular support.He is optimistic that nobody from my party is behind this episode.
He reiterated that he will order high level probe soon and return to political life only after full probe is done and got clean chit.
