Kasaragod, August 31: A miscreants group attacked Ashurakarmi Mantrika Sannidhi, an Ashram of a sorcerer and destroyed it.
The miscreants took away Rs 14 lakh and 28 sovereigns of gold and damaged the two vehicles and also beat up and badly injured the Ashram worker Vijay (30).
The attack was allegedly carried out in retaliation for a speech relating to a community and religion by Ramachandra at Hosangady. Ramachandra was not in the Ashram during the attack.
Kumble police station inspector C B Thomas and Manjeshwar inspector Bijulal arrived at the spot. The place is now guarded by the police.
More than fifty people were said to have been part of the attack and a case has been filed against them.
