On the night of Wednesday August 28, Sri Vishwavallabha Teertha of Sode Mutt will perform rituals to worship Lord Krishna. ‘Sri Krishna Balaleelostava’ and ‘Vittla Pindi’ will be celebrated in a grand way. Preparations have been completed for ‘Balagopalana Leela Mosaru Kuddike Ustava’ which will be held in front of the Math.
The ‘Puja’ for Lord Krishna will be offered from dawn till midnight. Devotees have thronged in from far off places to witness the festivities.

For the distribution of devotees who come to view the beauty of the celebration 50 cooks are engaged in the preparation of 9 lac ladus and one lac Chakkulis.This year’s specialty of the celebration is the distribution of 29 thousand ladus to 129 schools by Paryaya Sodhe Vadhiraja Mutt’s Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji.The Ladus and Chakulis will be distributed to devotees on Vitla Pindi day after offering to Sree Krishna.
Mosaru Kudike, is a festival similar to “Dahi Handi'” celebrated in Maharashtra and other parts of North India.

The famous Udupi Sri Krishna temple is all set to celebrate with religious gaiety and pomp the Sri Krishna Janmashtami and Vittal Pindi (Sri Krishna Leelolstav celebrations) which will be held from August 29. People throng to Udupi just to get the glimpse and the blessing of the “Kadagolu Krishana”.
This year loads of flowers have been brought from Chikamagalur and selling at pretty expensive prices in the name of festival. Sevanthige is being sold at Re 20 per maaru and different colors,varieties of Sevanthige are dominating the Sree Krishna temple area.
