Mangalore, August 20: Under the auspices of Elu Patna Mogaveera Samyuktha Sabha, Ocean worship was led by shree Pooja Sandhyanath G., at the sea shore of Thanniru Bavi, here on Tuesday, August 20.
Every residents of the area offered the coconut, flowers and milk to the ocean.
In the presidential address of the programme, he said that there are many problems in relating to fishing and harbour and chance has reserved for the extension of harbour. When, river dredging was stopped from Alive bagilu to Gurupura river, machine boats are in the problem, hence, there is necessity of sand removing, he said.
Chief Guest textile port and inland transport minister Baburao Chinchansur, said that he is from Mogaveera community. ‘There is need to existence of new history in the Mogaveera community and there is need of progressive work. In the cost of Rs 500 crore, harbour construction is planned at Karavara, which will be highlighted as international harbour and request will be investigated by home minister, after that it will get confirmed, he said.
Meanwhile, river dredging and fishing related problems will be discussed with concerned officials, he said.
President Madhva Salian, general secretary Panduranga Suvarna, Vice- president Divakara Anchan, Treasurer Dayananda Puthran and others were present.
