Facebook Friendship?; Missing college girl from Karkala, traced in Mangalore; Boy arrested

Karkala; August 01: It has been reported that in one of the incidents, a first year Pre-degree student, who is studying in one of the private colleges has been kidnapped from the college by an youth named Samsheed, aged 21, resident of Mangalore and believed to be Kerala origin and brought to Mangalore by bus, hidden in a flat and misbehaving with her since two days.

According to the sources, when the minor girl, studying in first year pre-degree course, resident of Kabettu in Karkala taluk who was complaining about uneasiness (sickness) in her body on Monday July 29, morning was about to leave the house and at the same moment the accused, Samsheed was also arrived there and after pampering, encouraging her, he lured  her to Karkala bus stand by Auto rickshaw and then to Mangalore by bus.

Thereafter since girl has not returned to the home, the worried parents lodged a missing complaint with city’s police station. Meantime it was suspected that both boy and girl who belongs to the same community  came in touch and knew each other  through Facebook and it was with her consent only, she was brought to Mangalore by the boy.

But according to girl’s contradictory statement, as she was suffering from frequent fainting (giddiness) disease, she was forcibly brought to Mangalore by bus, took her to one flat and made her to sleep on the cot and immediately I  fainted, she narrated.

A complaint was then registered and on Tuesday, the police, her friends and family searched for her. They then learnt that she was seen going towards Mangalore.

The girl was found in a flat in Mangalore. She was rescued by the police and family members and taken back to Karkala.

Based on the girl’s statement, the police arrested Nasmid.

Both Nasmid and the girl were taken to Manipal hospital for medical examination.

About Physical contact on this minor girl will be confirmed only after conducting medical examination. Today many young girls are being cheated, deceived through Facebook and inviting unnecessary problems for them. In this regard had the home people taken little bit of care, many such incidents would have been averted and minimized.
