Kavoor gang-rape case: Four accused arrested.

Mangaluru, December 29: The Kavoor police on Monday evening, December 28th arrested five accused who had gang-raped a minor girl after locking her in a house.

On the basis of complaint filed by the minor girl in Kavoor police station, the Kavoor police on Monday evening arrested all the five accused and produced them in the court. One among the accused is a juvenile, it is said.

The arrested are identified as Prashanth Shetty (23), resident of Kunjathbail and his friends namely Salman (20), Suresh (23), and Naufal (23). Another accused involved in the case has absconded, it is said.

Within hours after the girl field complaint with the police, the absconding accused was arrested by the Kavoor police.

It is said, Prashanth Shetty who is the neighbour of the minor girl is the main accused in this case. Prashanth Shetty used to frequent the house of the minor girl and constantly harassed her, it is said.

It is said, on the evening of December 27th, Prashanth Shetty had lured the minor girl and brought her to a house in Kunjathbail. He then raped the girl there along with his four friends. Then the accused threatened the girl of her life, in case she revealed about the incident, it is said.

The minor girl, who was in a state of shock after the incident, appeared tired. When the minor girl’s family members questioned her, she revealed about the incident.

The minor girl’s family immediately went to Kavoor police station and field a case.
