Udipi, July 14: Harish Sherigar, Managing director of ACME building materials, Dubai and well known versatile singer and president of Dubai Devadiga Sangha, has inaugurated the scholarship distribution and felicitation ceremony organized by Devadigara Seva Sangha at Udipi, on July 14, Sunday at the premise of Devadiga Sabha Bhavan, Chitpadi, udipi.
Addressing the gathering Harish Sherigar said in his inaugural speech that I will always encourage, motivate and support all the talented, creative students. My helping hands are not limited only to Mangalore and even udipi, Kundapur students are also included, he said.
He also said that besides SSLC students even graduates, engineering students are also eligible for the grant and can forward their applications. He also added that he will always support, encourage and extend his helping hand for all the good works being carried out by Devadiga Sanghas across the district.
U Dharmapal Devadiga, businessman from Mumbai and former president of Devadiga Sangha, Mumbai said in his address that ‘Education itself is Wealth” and with the help of proper education, one can reach to any height. There should not be any ego, proud and complexity problem in students. There will be always be a grace, blessings on us only we chose the right path in our life. By scoring 100% marks in examination, does not mean that you have achieved everything in life. Parents must take full responsibility of their wards, until they become one good citizen.
Students who secured highest marks in SSLC and PUC have been felicitated and honored by distributing scholarship to them.
Dr B S Sherigar, retired vice chancellor of Shimoga Kuvempu University has presided over the function.
Chief guest Smt Veena Ganesh, Vice principal,Attavara higher primary school and guests like Shekar,Presdent,Suratkal unit of Karnataka Rajya Devadigara Sangha and U Ganesh Devadiga,President,udipi Devadiga Sangha and among others were present in the ceremony.
