Udupi, Jul 1:  The two accused in the Manipal gang-rape case Hariprasad and Anand   were  produced in the district court  and were  remanded in five days of police custody.

As per the request of prosecution, the court  ordered their DNA test.

Anand was discharged from hospital on Sunday June 30  after recuperating from a failed suicide bid.  Yogish, the other accused who had also attempted suicide, is still in hospital. His condition is said to be improving.

Hariprasad had already been produced in court three days ago and remanded in police custody. He has been sent to additional five days of custody.

Both Anand and Harisprasad were taken to Govt Hospital  for medical examination before they were brought to court.

No information was given on when the DNA test will be conducted.

All the three accused in the Manipal Gang-Rape case were caught  in a cinematic style on 27th June amid chaotic & confusing  turn around in the investigation. Accused Yosgish is still on treatment at KMC Hospital Manipal and said to be recovering. Ironically even the Victim is admitted in the same hospital.
