Mangalore, June 23: Karnataka Kshathriya Maratha Parishath® has celebrated 386th birth anniversary of Shivaji at city’s Ravindra Kala Bhavan on June 23, Sunday.
Programme was inaugurated by Ramanatha Rai, minister for forest, ecology and environment by lighting the traditional lamp.
Rai, after inaugurating the programme said in his address that Shivaji was the man who fought against the aggression of foreigners, was a role model for all of us and a symbol of self esteem and he was a patriotic leader.
Although people are less in numbers in Kshatriya community, he commended the active participation of the community people in all the spheres and memorandum, which you have submitted requesting for separate community Bhavan on this occasion, will be examined and promised that after discussing with the concerned, grant-in-aid, would be released.
On this occasion minister has been felicitated by the Samithi members and at the end grant-in-aid has been disbursed to handicapped and talented students of the community.
V A Ranoji Rao Sathe has presided over the function.
V shivaji Rao Jadhav, Harinath Bondel, A Bainoji Rao More, Chandrashekar Chandraman, Santhosh shetty participated in the programme as chief guests.
