Public meet on every third Sunday – Says SP Abhishek Goyal

Mangalore, June 16: Addressing the media personnel in the press meet held at district superintendent office on June 16, Sunday SP Abhishek Goyal said in his address that in view of addressing the public grievances, it has been decided to hold public meeting in all police stations across the district on every third Sunday of the month.

Although meeting was called on June 16, Sunday at district superintendent office, only few people have attended due to lack of proper communication. Therefore henceforth public grievances would be addressed at the respective police stations of particular zone on the third Sunday of every month. During the meeting participation of superintendent is mandatory, he informed.

Helpline centres:

There are already helpline centers are in use across the district and within ten days of time, police counseling will be done through NGOs help and this will help all the people because here for women, children, old people, this place will become shelter Centre for their problems and become multi-council centre and all the required facilities will be provided, he said.

Works in progress in naxal affected areas:

In naxal affected areas problems are being solved and almost 50% of the works have been completed. Government has released a grant of Rs 5 crore for solving the problems in naxal affected region and Rs 3.95 crore has already been disbursed to Zilla panchayat and PWD, he clarified.

Construction of road works, drainage works, Solar light system, construction of bridges and vented dam etc are in progress, he informed.

Home Guard Jobs to Tribals:

Tribal youths will be appointed in police department as home guards and instruction has been given to give job opportunity for one year for 21 people.
