Mangaluru, May 18: Mangaluru girl Rashmita, student of Sharada Vidyalaya here has secured the first rank in Karnataka state in the commerce field.
Out of 600 marks, Rashmita has scored 593 and her percentage is 98.83%. Rashmita scored 100 in business studies, accountancy, mathematics, and statistics, 99 in Sanskrit and 94 in English.
Rashmita’s achievement has made her parents, college and city proud. She is the daughter of B Purushotham and Shashikala from Bejai Kapikad, Mangaluru.
Speaking to the media, delighted Rashmita said that her ambition is to become a chartered accountant.
When asked how she prepared for the exams, she said, studying with friends during revision holidays helped me a lot. I was studying as usual and I frequently visited the library.
Her mother Shashikala said, we expected her to perform well but never thought she would secure a rank. Even during exams, she was studying in her usual manner and she did not take tuitions. Now, Rashmita is preparing for CPT exams.
Another student of the same college, Arya M, has secured 590 in PCMB, with 100 marks in mathematics and physics, and 99 in biology and chemistry. She is expected to be among the toppers in the state.
She is the daughter of Mani Nayak and Srimathi Nayak. Arya said her ambition is to become a paediatrician.
Other toppers in the college are Saurabh Surendra Kumar (589 in commerce), Manvitha (588 in science) and Harsha Shetty (585 in commerce).
