Shilpa Devadiga Bijoor a resident of Bijoor, Kundapur aged about 24 years is a TCH Qualified and currently under medical treatment for Chronic Kidney disorder in both the Kidneys . As per Dr. Shankar Prasad, Associate Professor, Dept. of Nephrology, Shilpa is Stage 5 for Chronic Kidney disorder and under treatment since December 2014. She is hospitalized in Manipal and needs hemodialysis thrice a week pending renal transplantation . As per Doctor at KMC hospital the renal transplantation can be done once they find a donor whereas the treatment needs to be continued until she comes to normal stage.
The cost of the whole treatment for a year as per the Hospital sources comes to around Rs.5.5 Lakhs which includes the transplantation surgery, treatment, medication and approximate evaluation of the donor kidney.
Her father is daily wages labour and mother is a housewife. So far they have incurred lakhs of rupees for the treatment by borrowing small hand loans from others which has gone above their head. Now they are seeking financial help from the Donors for her remaining treatment as they are not in a position to continue the treatment.
