Mangalore, June 8: It seems, robbers, looters have spread their network all across the district since some days. After couple of robberies reported in the district by impostors posing as cops, in the latest case a man from Delhi was robbed of a cash of Rs 85,000 at the busy MG Road on June 7, Friday.
As per the available sources, one Mohammad Afzal from Delhi, said to be the son of MLA from Delhi, who was working on a project at NIT-K was waiting in a car near PVS.When another man who was with Afzal in the car, went to a nearby building, a stranger approached Afzal saying his currency note was lying on the ground.
When Afzal got down from the car to pick the note, another stranger opened the car doors and escaped with Afzal’s briefcase, which had inside a cash of Rs 60,000/=passport and credit/debit cards apart from other valuable documents. After some time Afzal received a SMS from his bank saying Rs 25,000/has been debited to his account. With this amount Afzal has lost a total of Rs 85,000/ in matter of no time.
Kadri police have registered a case and investigation is in progress.
