New Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower begins operations in Mangaluru International Airport

Mangaluru, January 20: The new Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower which has been erected at the Mangaluru International Airport began its operations on Monday January 19th.

This air-conditioned tower of a height of 25 metres functions over the 24 hours of the day possees elevator facility too.

It gathered that Airports Authority of India will shift all the communication and air traffic control equipment from its old building to the new technical building which is adjacent to the new tower by the end of May-2015.

J T Radhakrishna, Director at MIA, has revealed that a new technical building will be constructed by the meteorological department here, to enhance the easier handling of air traffic at the Mangaluru airport.
