Mangaluru, January 19: A gut wrenching incident has reported on Sunday January 18th, in which a newborn baby girl was found dead in a well at Kalpana road near Bendorewell in the city.
The well is located in the property owned by an elderly couple Kasturi and Aithal. Their only daughter stays in another place.
The said well is used only by a woman staying in a neighbouring house. The neighbour woman who often draws water from this well reportedly had told her two days ago that foul smell was emanating from the well. On Saturday January 17th, the unpleasant smell was stronger, and when examined on Sunday morning, the body of new born baby was found floating in the well.
The cops were informed and the baby’s body was retrieved from the well.
Yet there is no information about how the baby was thrown into the well or who her parents are. The baby’s body was sent to Wenlock hospital for autopsy.
Kadri cops have filed a case and investigations are underway.
