Continuous theft traced at a garment Store in the city – Youth held, goods worth nearly 40 lakhs stolen.

Mangaluru, January 14: Theft which had been taking place for long at a garment store has finally come to light.  A man has been taken into custody by Bunder cops in relation to the theft at a garment store. The main suspect has landed at abroad and the cops are in a hunt for another suspect.

The arrested man is identified as Nawaz Kudroli.

It is gathered that the theft had taken place at Sagar dresses situated at Tokyo market. The theft was taking place daily since the past three years. Adil (21) who had been working at Sagar dressers during this period is believed to be the prime plotter in this theft.

Shop named Marina fashions was owned by Nawaz Kudroli in the same building in which Sagar dressers was situated.

Adil had a duplicate key of the rear door of the shop Sagar dressers. Adil who would arrive early for work, stole the goods from the shop using the duplicate key and would supply it to Nawaz Kudroli. He aided by a person named Safwan would sell the stolen goods to different shops in the district through line sales.

Recently, Adil had placed a bundle of stolen cloths near the generator of the building. The watchman of the building, who saw it with the address of Sagar dressers on it, passed the information to the owner of the shop. When owner checked the stocks in his shop, he discovered the theft.

When the initial case was filed on the theft at Bunder police station, Adil fled to a foreign country. After arresting Nawaz Kudroli, the cops seized goods worth Rs 1 lakh from his shop. They also recovered goods amounting to Rs 50,000 from Safwan’s residence. Safwan has remained elusive.

Owner of Sagar dresses Kamruddin, has filed a complaint with the police. The estimated value of the stolen goods is Rs 40 lakhs.
