Mangaluru, January 9: Anil Kumble, Former Indian cricket captain has visited the city on Friday, January 9th, for selection of players to Mangaluru cricket team.
Mayor Mahabala Maarla extended warm welcome to Anil Kumble at the Nehru Maidan.
From the state, around 2800 aspiring budding cricketers have registered their names. Among them 200 are from Mangaluru, 600 from Hubli and 2000 from Bengaluru. The final round of selections will take place on January 18th.
R Ananth, former Karnataka State cricketer, Vijay Bharadwaj, former Indian cricketer, Sridharan Sriram, left-handed all-rounder, K Jeshwanth, former left hand spinner and left handed batsman, Srikanth, President of the Dakshina Kannada Cricket Association and others are present.
Ten budding cricketers will be selected from Mangaluru and the selection is going on.
