Cops detain two more youths in relation to Ullaibettu communal clashes.

Mangaluru, December 26: Two more persons have been detained by the Mangaluru City Crime Branch (CCB) police in connection with the communal clash that took place recently in Ulaibettu out-skrits of Mangaluru.

The duo are identified as Rizwan (23) and Muneer (18), both are residents of Ulaibettu.

Sources said that, the cops arrested them at a police checkpost at Hejmady in Mulki on Wednesday, December 24th.

The duo had been accused of having conspired in sparking a clash near Ulaibettu Bridge by looting

houses and creating tension in the area three weeks ago. They were alleged to have fled from the area post the clashes.

Cops informed that the two accused had been booked earlier under attempt to murder in a case registered at Rural police station-Mangaluru.

Under the guidance of Mangaluru City Police Commissioner R Hithendra, directed by Vishnuvardhan DCP (Crime & Traffic), and DCP (Law & Order) K V Jagadish; the operation was led by CCB unit inspector Valentine D’Souza.
