Mangaluru, November 11: An early morning beach walk was held at Tannirbhavi Beach, off Sulthan Batteri on Sunday 9th of November 2014.
Svasti Rxlife Trust, a city based charitable trust and Dubai Based Kannadigaworld.com (News website), Homeland Holidays and service apartment, Maharaja Family restaurant and Surabhi Associates jointly organised this Walk to create health awareness among Mangaloreans.
This unique walk began at Sultan batteri by 7.30 am on Sunday morning. The participants comprised of members ranging from 5 year old child to the enthusiastic senior citizens. All the participants were distributed the T-shirts possessing “Beach Walk” symbol.
The participants who assembled on the river bed at Bolur, Sulthan Batteri were taught simple exercises. Later the team moved to Tanniru Bhavi by a boat and practised simple exercises.
Vande Matharam Song was sung at 7.30 am by all the participants on the shore. Later the “Beach Walk” began under the guidance of Giridhar Kamath, Swasthi RX life trust. All the participants enthusiastically participated in the beach walk for about 50 minutes.
Variety of snacks was distributed to all the participants. Fruits, drinking water facility, loud speaker and balls to play were arranged by the volunteers.
A special program was organised in the end during which Uma Manjulal gave some information about “GOMAATHE and Milk”. Awesome music was showcased by Naada Sinchana Group. Sarojini T Pai composed a beautiful poem on Beach walk and read it to the audience. Special participator of the Beach Walk – Narendra Nayak expressed his experiences about the walk.
Uner the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the participants of the walk and the volunteers of the Swasthi RX Life Trust cleaned the venue of the walk.
Vandana Nayak, Jyothi Prasad Nayak, Reshma Baliga welcomed the guests. Giridhar Kamath, Swasthi RX Life Trust, Sunil Dutt Pai, Co-ordinator of Beach Walk expressed their gratitude to all the participants to make the program a success. Vandana Naik and Dr Gayathri Baht thanked.
