High alert all over- Sri Lankan Prime Minister expected at Manipal.

Udupi, November 7: The Sri Lankan Prime Minister DM Jayarathne will participate in the convocation of Manipal University on November 8th. Udupi police have sounded a high alert in this regard. Since there is a threat to the Prime Minister, tight police security is provided from Mangaluru Airport to Manipal.

Police are deployed everywhere, high alert and thousand policemen have been deployed for security in Udupi district. The additional police personnel’s from Chikamagalur and Karwar districts are deputed, informed the SP P. Rajendra Prasad.

Sri Lankan Prime Minister DM Jayarathne arrives at Mangaluru airport on November 8th morning. From there he moves to Manipal through the National Highway where tight security is imposed. It is advised to close windows of all the hotels and lodge rooms facing the National Highway through which the prime minister travels. Vehicles are refrained from to park on the side of the highway also. SP said that the police will be assigned at the high buildings.

The respective stations sub-inspectors have already obtained complete information about the lodge rooms and kept watch over sensitive areas such as large building etc as ordered by the SP.
