Students take to streets demanding special police cell to curb sexual assaults.

Mangaluru, November 6:  A protest was organized in front of DC office, Mangaluru on Thursday November 6th by the students from All College Students Union demanding to form a special police cell against the growing assaults on students and also to trace the death case of Thirthahalli high school girl Nanditha.

.All College Students’ Union president Deekshith V Shetty addressing during the protest said “Sexual assault cases are increasing on the students and women. State government should seriously look into the issue and form a special police cell especially to curb increasing sexual assaults on students. Though several students’ deaths have occurred in odd ways, cases are still pending. Hence government should handover Nanditha’s case to CBI.”

Reshal, a student from Shri Devi College also said that “Cases of sexual assault are increasing on college girls. Government should form a separate special police cell to curb the sexual assaults on women.”

Through the deputy commissioner, a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister of the state.
