‘Vishwa Tuluvere Parba ‘Pundi panavu’ coupons released

Mangalore : South Canara District Central Co-operative (SCDCC) Bank Chairman  M N Rajendra Kumar launched the coupons (‘Pundi panavu’) and requisition letter to raise funds for Vishwa Tuluvere Parba on Saturday. 

The Vishwa Tuluvere Parba-2014,  will be held at Sahyadri College of Engineering premises in  Adyar from December 12 to 14.

Terming the concept of Vishwa Tuluvere Parba as a step towards the  unity and identity of Tuluvas, he said that youth should be involved in the programme. The work on the four-laning of the highway should be accelerated in the district.

Elected representatives should ensure that the road work is complete at the earliest.  Finance Committee President Prof M B Puranik said that at least Rs two crore would be required to organise Vishwa Tuluvere Parba.

Organising Committee Working President Dharmapala Devadiga hoped that with the direction of Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade, Moodabidri Alva’s Education Foundation Chairman Dr M Mohan Alva, the festival would be a success.

Meanwhile, M N Rajendra Kumar purchased first 1,000 coupons worth Rs 1 lakh. Vijaya Bank Manager Taranath Shetty, Corporator Radhakrishna, Spoorthi Mahila Mandali, Vijayalaxmi Shetty of Mahila Okkuta and others also bought the coupons. Coupons worth around Rs seven lakh were purchased at the venue.

Publicity Committee President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, Finance Committee Secretary Taranath Shetty Bolar, Tulu Koota Kudla Founder Convenor A C Bhandary, artiste Navaneeth Kadri and others were present.
