A house looted by a team of burglars in Hallihole.

Kundapur, October 24: Burglars entered a house, and fled away with cash and ornaments worth lakhs of rupees by threatening the occupants. This incident is reported from Hallihole – a Naxal affected area.

A group of 7-8 members entered the residence of Raghavendra Rao (57), residing close to Iragi school at Hallihole. The burglars locked Raghavendra Rao and his son kiran Rao in a room. They x threatened his wife Prabhavathi and escaped with money and a gold chain.

It is said that the thieves have burgled a gold chain weighing 4-pavans and cash of RS 40,000 summing to a total of nearly 1.50 lakh have been lost to the hands of burglars.

Raghavendra Rao has arecanut and coconut plantations. Due to heavy rain and lightning on Thursday, October 23rd he remained with his wife and son at home. It is said, the house is located in a remote area, and due to the rains the phone connections were not proper. Due to the push and pull experienced when the burglars entered the house at once, Raghavendra Rao fell ill who was treated in a hospital.

It is learnt that, the criminals were speaking local Kundapur Kannada.

The spot has been inspected by police officers. Dog squad as well as fingerprints experts were brought to the spot.

On Friday morning, October 24th Kundapur  DySP CB Patil and others visited the place. Shankaranarayana police are investigating the case.
