Kasargod, October 21: A home nurse Rajani (32) resident of Trikaripur was brutally murdered and buried in coconut farm at Chendera Police limits. She was working for private nursing home at Chervathoor.
Neeleshwara police have arrested Sathish (40), residing at Neeleshwara Kanicchar in relation to this case, who is the partner of the private nursing home.
Rajani’s dead body was traced at a pit in coconut farm behind the quarters of neighbour of Sathish. Since September 5th Rajani had gone missing. It is gathered that Sathish and Rajani had an affair. Rajani was forcing Sathish to get married, but Sathish was already married and had two children.
On this issue, quarrel erupted between the two, Sathish strangulated Rajani and after confirming her death, shifted her mortal remains in his car and buried it in Kanicchar coconut farm. But he did not disclose any matter, it is said.
It is said that, Rajini’s family suspected Satish in the beginning itself. The cops began investigation keeping Satish in mind. But he did not reveal any matter. Meanwhile, Satish went absconding. Hence the Cops grew suspicious.
Besides, based on the clues obtained about a dead body buried in coconut farm, the Cops took Satish into custody and investigated him. He then accepted to his crime.
Later on Monday morning, a team headed by DYSP Harischandra Nayak removed the mortal remains from the pit.
Rajani’s father Kannan had lodged a missing plaint at the Police station.
On Sunday when the grass was cleared from the coconut farm, foul smell erupted in the vicinity and traces of pit being dug were observed. Growing suspicious on it, the police were informed.
Police who came to the spot started to investigate the case and when Sathish was subjected to inquiry, the truth was revealed said the Cops.
It is also said in the initial stage itself family members doubted Sathish. Sathish was told to come to the police station twice for an interrogation. But he never revealed the truth. Police only started doubting after Sathish absconded. Police also confiscated his Omni car.
While police got the information about the dead body buried in coconut farm, they probed the matter further and Sathish revealed the truth. Later, the mortal remains were taken out for further tests.
Missing case was filed on September 18 by the deceased’s father Kannan.
