Interior designing student meets a tragical end after falling from moving train.

Kasargod, October 8: A college student tragically met an end on his way back home on Tuesday October 7th evening after falling from a moving train at Kumble. The body was traced on October 8th Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Ahmed Shabeeb (20), a resident of Shifa near Korakkodu Bilal Masjid. His body was found in a bush near Kumble Bridge by a fisherman.

Shabeeb had gone to the college on Tuesday after celebrating Bakrid festival at home. He was the son of K A Mohammed Shareef Walibal and C H Balkis. He was a student of first year interior designing at Shree Devi College in Mangalore city.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when he accidentally fell from the train while returning to Kasargod from Mangalore in Chennai Mail along with his friends.

It is gathered that, Ahmed had gone to wash his face when the train reached Uppala. When he did not return even after a long time, his friends started searching for him, then a passenger told them that he had seen a person falling off the train. The train had reached Kasargod by then.

His friends and some other passengers got down at Kasargod and searched for him on railway tracks. Police and fire brigade were also informed. The search was conducted in Kumble, Shiriya, Muttam and Peruvad railway tracks and nearby bushes and ponds in Kumble, Shiriya and Mogral.

Nearly 300 locals, police and fire brigade staff were involved in the search operations. The search operation continued till around 4 am.

Later, a local fisherman saw the body in some bushes and informed the police immediately. The police retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem to Kasargod general hospital.

It is said that there were several injuries on his head and body.

Shabeeb is survived by his parents, brother and sisters.
