Mangalore, September 30: In the vicinity of Government high School, Kasba Bangare sewage water has collected due to which the environment is affected badly. Threatened of the deadly disease such as dengue and malaria, there is a chance that the students might drop-out the school.
With regard to this matter, prior to this some organizations had met the local corporator Veena Karkera and MLA J.R.Lobo. Hence Meera Karkera and mayor had inspected the spot and said that the area would be cleaned, this was published in the Indian Express paper of September 15th.
But, ironically till this day neither the Mangalore city corporation nor from the Corporator’s end, no such cleanliness work has been initiated here. The school campus does not possess a compound wall. The School is the halting site for cattle and sheep. Every day due to the stinking smell of dung and urine of the animals, the teachers and the students have to carry-out a cleaning programme during the first period.
For this purpose, it had been assured 1.5 months ago that, to construct the compound wall, just 3 lakh rupees and has been released from the MLA-fund and the other grants will be released soon progressively. No works are seen here due to these funds as of now.
This Bengere(Thota bengare, Kudroli bengare, Kasba bengare) has a population of over 35000, but there is only one high school. This only school since 14 years does-not have any-Headmaster in the school, craft teachers, good D Group employees, nor laboratory and equipments. The Computers since 2 years are dysfunctional. Good play ground and library is not there for the children.
It is quite sad that, Nalin Kumar being chosen as MP for 2nd term has failed to visit the school at least once. Like-wise our representatives have failed to provide a basic facility for the school against whom we are ready to lead the fight if it is necessary said the S.I.O Kasba Bengare Secretary Saifullah.
