Mangalore, September 30: The ABVP had organized a protest against ASI Shrikala and other staff for allegedly assaulting students without any cause on Monday, September 30th.
Nursing students of the college alleged that police entered the college campus without any permission from the principle or college authorities and assaulted the students while they were playing in the college premises on Saturday September 27th.
Protest rally was organized from the premises of Wenlock hospital to police commissioner’s office.
Addressing the protest, nursing student Rama Madhav said, “Vinay and Rajiv were unnecessarily assaulted without any reason. ASI Shrikala with her staff entered the college premises without the permission from the principal. She also used abusive language towards the students. One of the students was handicapped. The students were admitted to hospital”
District Organizing Secretary Jayaprakash said, “ASI Shrikala and her staff have assaulted the students. When we approached the police authorities, they refused to file a case. Hence, today we are submitting a memorandum to the commissioner to take proper action. Instead of attacking the innocents, let her take action on those who misuse girl’s photos on face-book and on those who commit sexual assault. If we do not get justice, we will hold a massive protest.”
R Hithendra, the police Commissioner assured the students that Dy-SP will enquire regarding the incident and take actions. ABVP secretary Jayesh P K of the city accompanied the protest.
