Beijing: A Chinese woman who was allegedly dead for over a decade was found alive. She reportedly had been living in Internet cafes and playing games for the past ten years.

Xiao Yun, 24, a resident of an eastern province of Zhejiang, had left her house about 10 years ago after an argument with her parents. Her family members presumed her to be dead.

According to reports, Xiao was carrying a fake identity card. Post questioning, she revealed that she was living in Internet cafes for over a decade.

She also revealed that she was a huge fan of CrossFire, the multiplayer first-person shooter game. She spent most of her time playing video games, staying in the cafes and bath houses. Xiao also said that she worked as cashier to earn money and most of the time she relied on the contributions that were given to her by the customers visiting the café.

Brought up by her grandparents, Xiao was scolded by her mother who had a short temper and a stubborn personality. Her mother revealed that she did not change her phone number since Xiao left home, hoping that her daughter would try to contact her.

Police have charged Xiao with 1,000 Yuan and have contacted her parents so they can be reunited with their daughter.
