Beijing,jan.10 : The son of Hong Kong movie star Jackie Chan was sentenced to six months in jail and fined 2,000 yuan ($322) in Beijing today for providing a venue for drug users.
Jaycee Chan, 32, admitted to the charge in Dongcheng district court. He was detained by Beijing police on Aug. 14 Dongcheng court said in its Weibo account.
The jail term will be counted from his first day of detention and will end Feb 13, according to the verdict statement posted on social media platform Weibo.
I committed a crime and I deserve the punishment,Jaycee Chan told the court. I will never make this mistake again. I disappointed my family and friends.
The case has proved an embarrassment for his father Jackie, who in 2009 was made an antinarcotics spokesman by the Chinese police.
