Naidu would seek re-election from his Kuppam seat of Chittoor district in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections.

Mr. Naidu’s name figures in the first list of TDP candidates for 7 Lok Sabha and 47 Assembly segments in Seemandhra.

Simultaneous elections to 175 Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in Seemandhra would be held on May 7.

Late TDP leader K. Yerran Naidu’s son K. Ram Mohan Naidu has been fielded from Srikakulam parliamentary seat. The other Lok Sabha candidates are Maganti Venkateswara Rao (Eluru), Nimmala Kistappa (Hindupur), NMD Farooq (Nandyal), N Sivaprasad (Chittoor), Konakalla Narayana (Machilipatnam).

Mr. Naidu said he has made the selection of candidates in a very scientific manner, keeping in mind factors like social justice and track record.

He has also used an interactive voice response system through mobile phones to know the preference of the electorate. The voters were given certain names of candidates to choose and also the option of suggesting a candidate of their choice.

On demonstrations being staged by ticket aspirants, he said he has entered into an alliance with BJP in national and state’s interests and that “sacrifices” by some leaders is unavoidable.
