The body of a 55-year-old man reportedly mauled by a leopard, was found at Attabettu, seven km from Udhagamandalam, forest officials said on Tuesday.
This is the second such incident in Nilgiris district after a woman was mauled allegedly by the animal in Solada village on January 4, 2013.
Relatives, who went in search of the man who had gone to collect wood in the area Monday evening, found the half-eaten body around 1.30 am, forest department sources said.
Police said though four cages were kept to trap the leopard, the animal avoided them.
