BHOPAL: A youth murdered and buried a 17-year-old minor girl, who was carrying a seven-month old pregnancy, in Khamra village of Chhindwara district. He was assisted in the crime by his father and younger brother.
It is learnt that the accused sexually exploited girl for two years and killed her, when her parents pressured him for marriage.
Police recovered the body of the deceased on Saturday night and has booked four people including the accused father and son in the matter on Sunday morning.
Kotwali police station in charge, H R Pandey said, “The girl was pregnant and was having a physical relation with accused Sandeep, 21, for over two years as per the complaint of victims’ father. Girls’ parents wanted Sandeep to marry her but he was not interested”.
Sandeep’s father Ramdas, his younger brother Pradip and another person identified as Rajaram hatched the conspiracy and killed the girl, he said.
“Pradip went to the girl’s residence and took her with him on pretext of getting her treated. Later he along with his brother Sandeep threw her off from a bridge above Kanhan River near Ramkona area, on March 21,” Pandey said.
Rajaram also joined them and all the four buried the body of the girl in nearby sand, he added.
The parents of the girl lodged a police complaint on March 25, but on April 2, the investigations were transferred to Kotwali police after the intervention of SP who was monitoring the case, said sources.
The body of the girl was recovered on the basis of information provided by accused, who were arrested by police on Saturday, said sources.
