NEW DELHI, November 15:  The 42-year-old woman on whose complaint a case of rape was registered against BSP MP Dhananjay Singh at Pandav Nagar on Wednesday, registered a similar complaint in 2009.

In the recent complaint, the victim told the police that Mr. Singh raped her on several occasions between 2004 and 2009 and threatened her with dire consequences if she reported the matter to the police.

Meanwhile, the victim’s estranged husband made a shocking claim that the allegations were untrue and motivated. Talking to The Hindu on Thursday, he said it was through him that his wife first met Mr. Dhananjay Singh back in 2005. He went on to add that between 2004 and 2009, she was with him and had even given birth to their two children. She never told him or her own father about the threats issued by the MP back then.

Medical examination of the victim was conducted on Thursday and her statement would be filed under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code on Saturday.

Mr. Singh, who was arrested along with his wife in connection with the murder of a domestic help, is currently in jail and his bail application in that case would come up for hearing on Friday.
