Shekhar Kapur and Amitabh Bachchan have appealed for dry Holi.
Water police is killing Holi
1.Holi is played only 1 day in a year, that too for just a few hours.
2.The fun and bonhomie Holi brings can’t be valued in water drops, take water out and you kill these.
3.Most people opposing water use are from the supercilious upper class that want to deny a simple pleasure to Holi lovers.
4.Fix bigger and more regular water wastage. Over 900 million litres of water are wasted in Mumbai alone in leakages every day.
Water police is saving Holi
1.Water scarcity is at its worst. Only 2.5 per cent of all water is potable and of that only 0.5 per cent is available as ground water. That’s the water used in Holi.
2.Dry Holi eliminates the rowdy elements that have prevented many families from enjoying the festival in public.
3.Let’s reinvent Holi. If electric lights can replace diyas and candles for Diwali, why can’t dry colours replace water?
