MANDI ( HIMACHAL PRADESH): Mandi police on Wednesday arrested three cops for allegedly gang raping a woman in Mandi town on Monday morning at 7am, police said.
Accused were produced before the district court and remanded in police custody till July 6.
According to FIR, victim complained that she was standing near bus stand on Monday morning when a police official, identified as Man Singh, forcibly took her to a room in an auto rickshaw and raped her. Later two other police officials, identified as Subhash and Bhup Singh, entered the room and raped her forcibly.
According to inspector Kamla Ghai, in-charge of women cell Mandi, medical examination of the victim was carried out at Mandi hospital.
Sources said the woman is mentally unfit and she is a daughter of a retired police official of Mandi.
Mandi police chief RS Negi said the matter was being take seriously and a case was registered under section 376(D), 342 of IPC Act.
