New Delhi: Students across the country will again witness Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s oratorical skills as he interacts with them for the second year running on Teachers’ Day.

Human resources development minister Smriti Irani has said that this year’s event will be held a day earlier, on September 4, as most schools will have a holiday on September 5 for Janmashtami.

Sources said that during the interaction, students will be allowed to ask questions to the Prime Minister. Students for the interaction are expected to be selected from several government schools. The event is likely to be telecast live by Doordarshan, the national broadcaster.

During last year’s event, Mr Modi had spent an hour and 45 minutes with nearly 1,000 schoolchildren drawn from the Delhi region. Apart from interacting with students at the auditorium, the
PM also answered questions put by students from Leh, Port Blair, Silchar, Imphal, Bhuj and Dantewara through video-conferencing.
