Palamu, Jharkhand: Jharkhand’s health minister and veteran BJP politician Ramchandra Chandrawanshi today attacked a political rival in full public view, and then got his body guards to thrash the Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) politician repeatedly. The incident was caught on camera.
The incident happened in the state’s Palamu district, where Mr Chandrawanshi had gone to attend a function organised by a body that represents the Chandrawanshi caste. The current president of this body is a political rival who belongs to the RJD.
Reports suggest that during this function, the minister and the RJD politician had an argument over appointing the minister’s son as the next head of the caste body.
After the function got over, the minister can be seen, in video footage, approaching his rival, assaulting him by delivering at least two blows and then his guards and supporters take over, thrashing the man.
The minister can be heard in the footage saying that his rival, the RJD politician had abused him. The abuse part is not on camera.
