Ahmedabad:  Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel will be a part of the 26-member delegation of ministers, officials and industrialists that will visit China with PM Modi. This will be her first foreign trip as a head of state.

The visit of the Chief Minister, officials said, is a follow up of the Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the state in September last year, where breaking protocol Prime Minister Modi had come to receive him in his home state.

In the six-day tour from May 14 – May 20, the Gujarat delegation led by Ms Patel will visit cities like Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, officials in the Chief Minister’s Office said today.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is also travelling to China along with the Prime Minister.

Last year during Mr Jinping’s visit to Gujarat, three bilateral agreements were signed including sister-state province agreement to develop cultural and social ties between Guangdong Province and Gujarat State, sister-city agreement between Guangzhou City and Ahmedabad and setting up of Industrial Parks in Gujarat.
