Bhopal:  Rescue operations have been going on round-the-clock at a village in Madhya Pradesh’s Agar Malwa district, where a four-year-old boy fell inside an open borewell yesterday evening.

Ajay Suryavanshi fell inside the borewell, which is over 270-feet deep, while playing at a local farm.

After Ajay’s family and villagers sought its help, the district administration sent a 30-member team, comprising Army jawans, from Bhopal. Rescue operations have been going on for over 20 hours to save the boy; oxygen is being supplied to the bottom of the borewell so that it can reach Ajay.

His family members and rescue officials are worried as they have no idea about the boy’s condition.

“We are trying our best to rescue the child. We have called the rescue team from Bhopal and are using JCB machines to dig a parallel pit to reach the child. We are hoping that we are able to save the child,” said Collector of Agar Malwa Vinod Sharma.
