Chandy, 97 Others to Face Solar Scam Heat

KOCHI: Justice G Sivarajan judicial commission probing the Solar scam on Wednesday released a provisional list comprising names of 98 persons, including Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Transport Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan to be examined as part of the inquiry. The commission would come out with its final list of persons to be examined, on Saturday.

According to officials, several names in the provisional list would be excluded in the final list as complaints and statement of several persons are the same. Apart from Oommen Chandy and Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Tenny Jopan, Jikkumon Jacob, Salim Raj and Thomas Kuruvilla who were in the Chief Minister’s personal staff are included in provisional list. Sheejadas and Nazeema Beegum, the women police constables, who were part of the security staff of the Chief Minister would also be heard.The telephone calls made by MLA and various leaders including A P Abdullakutty, Benni Behnan, Hibi Eden, P C Vishnunath and Mons Joseph will also come under the scrutiny of the commission.Ministers Aryadan Muhammad, Ramesh Chennithala, A P Anilkumar, Adoor Prakash, Shibu Baby John, K C Joseph, P J Joseph, K P Mohanan and K Babu along with Members of Parliament M I Shanavaz, K V Venugopal and Kodikunnil Suresh would be examined by the commission.

The court will hear from Youth Congress leader T Siddique, R Selvaraj MLA, four private secretaries to the ministers, the MLAs who raised allegations in Assembly including P C George, Raju Abraham, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, C Divakaran, P Sreeramakrishnan, Mathew T Thomas, T M Thomas Isaac and V S Achuthanandan.

The complainants R G Ashok Kumar, Abdul Majeed, Sajad, T C Mathew, E K Baburajan, Rasiq Ali, Dr Mathew Thomas and R Sreedharan Nair will be heard by the commission.

The accused persons who are to be examined are Kaladevi alias Kala Venugopal of Changanassery, Indira P of Chengannur, Shalu Venugopal alias Shalu Menon, Changanassery, Biju Radhakrishnan and Saritha S Nair.The commission will examine 16 representations received from outside the Assembly, including from Vaikom Viswan, convenor, LDF, Pinarayi Vijayan, state secretary, CPM, Pannyan Raveendran, CPI state secretary, R Balakrishna Pillai, chairman, Kerala Congress(B),  editors of various news dailies and news channels and representatives of two mobile network companies.As per the provisional list, the commission will hear from M V Raju, former Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ernakulam and Vigilance Registrar of the Kerala HC,  along with three other staffers in the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate. The commission will examine ADGPs T P Senkumar, A Hemachandran and K Padmakumar and seven other police officers who were part of initial probe.
