Assamese woman gang-raped in Delhi’s Mundka, four arrested

New Delhi: In yet another case of crime against women in the national capital, a 30-year-old woman from Assam was gang-raped by four of her neighbours in the Mundka area here, reports said on Sunday.

According to a complaint lodged by the rape survivor, the victim has named the main accused and three others, saying that she was being harassed by them for rejecting their advances after her husband’s death.

The women was reportedly living alone in the area since then.

Meanwhile, taking a quick action, police have arrested the main accused and three others involved in this heinous crime and have lodged them to Tihar jail.

A case of gang-rape, house trespass and other relevant sections has been registered and further investigations are underway, police said.

The victim is a native of Assam and was assaulted on November 8. A case was registered after the victim was released from the hospital.

“The accused came to my house and assaulted me. The accused must be punished, I want justice,” the rape survivor said.
