Women’s rights exhibition inaugurated in Coimbatore -Nov 16_2014_008

Coimbatore: An exhibition was inaugurated today as part of the awareness campaign of the “Awakening” Conference being organized by National Women’s Front. The theme of the exhibition is “Women’s rights and issues”. The exhibition was inaugurated by Popular Front of India Tamilnadu state president A.S. Ismail at 11:30 am. National Women’s Front National President Mrs. Shahida Aslam, State President Mrs. Raziya Banu, State Vice-president Mrs. Habeeb Nisa, Conference General Convener Mrs. M. Shifa was also present on the occasion.

The exhibition has been divided into categories. The first category displays an introduction of various prominent women personalities and activists. The struggle of these brave women personalities are explained to the audience. Another category presents the contribution of women in India’s freedom struggle. The exhibition also sheds light on various serious issues and threats surrounding Indian women. The exhibition has different Visio-graphics which presents issues like domestic violence, rapes, under-representations, female feticide, human trafficking and riots victims.

The exhibition will be open till 16th November 15, 2014 till evening 9pm. The conference committee expects around 15000 women to visit the exhibition. Women delegates from Karnataka, Kerala, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Goa and Rajasthan will also attend the exhibition and conference.
