The crime branch arrested Pramod (27) alias Pinku with large amount of chips and display boards of petrol pumps on Thursday. According to the accused, he had installed chips in nearly two dozen gas stations in the state for Rs. 10,000 to 50,000. He has also alleged involvement of various petrol pump owners.
As per the statement given by Promod to the police, the chip was installed in the diesel-petrol display board and the software was installed in the circuit. In this installation, the percentage of the fuel to be provided is set.
In order to become a billionaire Promod quit his job eight months back. After meeting Mukesh, he got the idea of software of stealing petrol. He brought the software for Rs. 1 lakh from Mukesh.
