Tirupati: In joint raids by Yerravaripalem, Rompicherla, Bhakarapeta and KV Palli police at various places on Mondy evening and Tuesday, as many as 33 inter-state red sanders smugglers were arrested. In the raids nine vehicles and 125 red sanders logs valued at Rs 1.86 crore were also seized by the police. The arrested included Munde Rajasekhar Naik, A Jayapraksh and Satyaraj, On the same day, Rompicherla police arrested three smugglers. The arrested were identified as K Gurunath, K Theja Prakash Reddy and C Sivakumar.
On Tuesday morning, in a joint operation KV Palli and Yerravaripalem police arrested three inter-state red sanders smugglers identified as Pulicherla Asok, S Rajesh and Saikumar Reddy. On the same day, Bakarapeta police intercepted a borewell lorry and a Maruthi Suzuki car at Venkatanayanicheruvu tank bund in Chinnagottikallu mandal, leading to the arrest of 15 inter-state smugglers.
