New Delhi: Already facing flak for his alleged involvement in controversial land scam, Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra on Saturday got furious when a question was asked to him about the land deals.

In a footage released by media, Vadra is seen pushing the journalist’s mic away when asked a question about the land deal scam.

Vadra had gone to attend the inauguration ceremony of a fitness centre in Delhi’s Ashoka Hotel when the journalist posed a question to him on land deals.

The news agency also alleged that Vadra’s security personnels later assaulted the cameraman and reporter and threatened them that they will get the video deleted.

“Are you serious, are you serious? Put your camera off. Are you nuts?” uttered Vadra while responding to the journalist’s question.
Giving clarification on the entire incident, Vadra issued a statement that he wasn’t aware that the reporter was from ANI. “I thought the question was asked by a private photographer.”

Meanwhile, slamming Vadra’s act, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, “I’m shocked the way he reacted to the question asked by the journalist. He should apologise to both nation and media. If he was uncomfortable in replying to the question, he should have simply said ‘no comments’.”

On being asked, if BJP government will probe against Vadra in the alleged land deals, Patra said, “Our government will follow a legal path in probing the land deals scam.”

Vadra’s hostile response to the question comes days after BJP’s leader Anil Vij had said that Haryana’s new government will investigate all controversial land deals.

Soon after Manohar Lal Khattar took oath as Haryana’s Chief Minister, Vij had said “We will inquire into all land scams including the one involving Vadra land deal. Sitting Judge will probe the case.”

The BJP leader had further said, “We will also see whether the law was violated in acquiring land for different projects during (the previous) Hooda government.”

“We will get every inch of this land scam probed. Anyone found guilty in that, whether any official, Robert Vadra or Bhupinder Singh Hooda, we will not spare anyone,” Vij added.
