Kolkata: With the cross-border terror link gradually becoming prominent into the Khagragarh explosion in Burdwan, another accused, Hasem Mollah alias Hasan, was arrested by the criminal investigation department (CID) onMonday.

He is the third accused to be caught. On Sunday, Hasem wasdetained for questioning by the CID from Purbashthali. According to the investigators, he was in regular touch with one of the two suspected slain militants Shakeel Ahmed and had a long conversation with him over phone before the explosion on October 2.

Hasem was remanded by the Burdwan court to 12 days’ CID custody. He, however, denied his association with Shakeel. “I never spoke to him. I had neither any link with anyone nor was involved in any wrongdoing. I earn my living by running a shoe shop and selling sm-all pieces of coal,” he claimed at the court premises.

But Hasem revealed that he used to sell prepaid mobile recharge cards as well at his shop. “A call might have been made while mobile recharging that (Shakeel’s) number,” he added.
The CID is now hunting for three more absconding accused Kausar, Abul Kalam Sheikh and Rafikul Islam who played key role in running the terror module.
