NEW DELHI: In another horrific sexual assault on a child, a four-year-old girl was admitted to AIIMS after being raped and subjected to unnatural sex by a 20-year-old neighbour in south Delhi’s Chirag Dilli on Wednesday.
The girl is reported to be in a stable condition, police said, adding that counsellors have been contacted to help her deal with the trauma.
The accused, Vijay, a labourer, has been arrested. “A neighbour first spotted the victim crying outside her house. She was then taken to a hospital where a medical examination confirmed rape. A rape case has been registered and we may add other sections after her statement,” said an officer.
The assault took place when the girl was alone; her father, a daily-wager, and mother, a domestic help, were at work. Once the victim is fit to make a statement, cops plan to get a magistrate to record it under section 164 of the CrPC.
