Coimbatore: A woman in Pollachi slashed her wrist and ended her life after a drunken quarrel with her husband, the police said. According to the Pollachi town police, Michael (46) and his wife Ayiti Gamal (42) were chronic alcoholics and frequently quarrelled after a liquor binge.
On Friday night, both of them drank liquor and were engaged in a fierce quarrel. A little later, Michael dozed off but Ayiti Gamal, who was in a drunken mood, slashed her wrist.
On Saturday morning, Michael found his wife lying in a pool of blood. The police rushed to the spot and recovered the body for post-mortem. The police are awaiting the post-mortem report to confirm if it was a case of suicide or murder.
