Karnataka Sangha Sharjah a premier association for Kannadigas in UAE is all set to celebrate their 12th Anniversary in a grand manner on Friday the 20th June, 2014 at the Auditorium of Indian Association Sharjah. The programme will start at 3 PM and will go on till 8.30 PM with various programmes scheduled.
Well known Sandalwood Actor Vijaya Raghavendra, Sandalwood Choreographer Harini Madan and President of Indian Association Sharjah, Balakrishnan will be the Chief Guests of the evening to grace the occassion.
CHILLY WILLY ‘MAYURA’ COUPLE DANCE COMPETITION:
The highlight of the evening is ‘Chilly Willy Mayura Couple Dance Competition’ finals of which the initial rounds have been concluded in various locations some time back. The final round will be held on the programme day and the participants have to dance on exclusively Kannada songs and is open to all Kannadigas residing in UAE. Karnataka Sangha Sharjah as a part of their annual programme this year, for the first time ever, have organised ‘Couple Dance’ competition.
The winners of 6 to 12 years age group will be awarded ‘Mayura Trophy’, ‘Appreciation Letter from Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah & will be felicitated with ‘Mayura Kumara / Mayura Kumari’ Awards.
The winners of 13 to 20 years age group will be awarded ‘Mayura Trophy’, ‘Appreciation Letter from Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah & will be felicitated with ‘Mayura Yuvaraja / Mayura Yuvarani’ Awards.
The winners of 21 to 35 years age group will be awarded ‘Mayura Trophy’, ‘Appreciation Letter from Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah & will be felicitated with ‘Mayura Raja / Mayura Rani’ Awards.
The winners of above 36 years age group will be awarded ‘Mayura Trophy’, ‘Appreciation Letter from Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah & will be felicitated with ‘Mayura Maharaja / Mayura Maharani’ Awards.
The second and third place winners will be awarded with ‘Mayura Trophy’ & Appreciation Letter from Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah.
All the participants will be honoured with ‘Appreciation Letter’ from Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah for their active participation.
All the choreographers of the dances will be adjudged, identified and the selected one will be honoured with ‘Best Choreographer’ Award on the stage with the title.
PRESTIGIOUS ‘MAYURA’ AWARD FOR HERMAN LEWIS
The added attraction is the presenting of ‘Mayur Award’ to the identified ideal Kannadiga in U.A.E who have excelled in the field of either art, literature, education, sports, social service or any such fields. This year Herman Lewis an well known Kannadiga entrepreneur in the field of Media and Entertainment is being chosen to be bestowed with the prestigious ‘Mayur Award’ for the year 2014.

A triple graduate in Science, Commerce and Law, Herman lives a simple, humble and polite life with a mission to inspire lifelong learning, acquire advance knowledge, share, strengthen & empower our Kannadiga communities in the UAE and elsewhere. His primary, secondary and high school education was completed in the beautiful city of Coondapur and later did his graduation in St. Joseph’s College and LLB in Shri. Jagatguru Renukacharya Law College in garden city of Bangalore. Further he extensively studied and completed A.S.S.A (Member of Society of Incorporated Auditors and Accountants of India) and also done Management Cources in Business Management covering Sales, Marketing, Finance Management, Management of Small Scale Industries, Cost Accounting and Office Administration.
SERVICE WITH A SMILE
Herman’s with his clear vision had been serving in various enterprises and attained solid experience in different industries. To name a few he was Chief Executive of a well refuted Electro Mechanical Industry in India, Director of Champion Technical Trading in Abu Dhabi, Managing Director of Silver Home General Trading in Dubai, Managing Director of Overseas Supplement Publishing under Silver Home Group, Managing Director of Winchester Group, Dubai & Managing Director of Sea Food Paradise in Dubai.
From service industry to entertainment field was his new challenging venture wherein he became well known in social circles. He built, operated and managed ARN Radio Network including CITY FM in UAE, He associated with Building, operations, consultancy and management of over 25 radio stations in Middle East, North Africa and Indian sub-continent, He was the Consultant and associated with community radio in India and North Africa, He associated with the Launch of 4 television stations, He was totally involved in Broadcast Consultancy specializing in Radio and TV and at the same time was also involved in managing hospitality business called LU-LU Bay- a fast food chain in Dubai.
With 15 years of experience in Media he is currently CEO and Managing Director of V3 Media Solutions Fze. LLC – Radio Spice 105.4 FM a prestigious spicy Radio Channel well known in the Gulf which he has build from start to finish and successfully running lending soulful music blended with sheer entertainment to the ears of Asians in the UAE and Gulf.

Herman’s professional activities include, Broadcast Consultant for Fujairah Media, Consultant for Community Radio Stations/Mall radio, Delivered many lecturers at various professional educational institutions and various Multinational companies on Media, Management, Sales and Marketing and Personality Development in India and in UAE. System Integration Partner with many reputed broadcast companies around the world. International Real Estate Professional and Advisor for Many Educational Institutions/Hospitality/Broadcast institutions.
PAST TIME ACTIVITY
He was leader of many social service organizations in School, College, N.S.S. Group and President of Junior Curia, Karnataka. He was a member of Rotaract and Rotary in India, was founder member and director of Kanara Entrepreneurs Ltd. Dubai, was founder Member of Mangalore Konkans, and SMKC, in Dubai, was Member of various social organizations in UAE, represented Karnataka in Tennis and Athletics, represented School/ College and Bangalore University in Athletics, Tennis, Cricket, Badminton.
His hobbies include Cricket, Tennis, Badminton, Reading, Travelling, Music, Drama, Acting & Direction. His interests included Creative Ideas, Concepts, Counseling in Multi fields, Cultural &Theatre Activities, Organizing events, Social Service and Counseling
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Herman won all round Championships and awards in Athletics, Cricket, Badminton, and other sports. He was the founder and lead for many organizations as leader in school, College and sport Associations and social organizations. He represented in World Real Estate Congress and Presented papers. He presented many innovative projects for Govt. of Dubai. To his credit he was bestowed with Best Event Organizer Award from Al Nasr Leisureland, Dubai.
Herman Lewis has been serving in the Media field and has the credit of broadcasting the first Kannada, Tulu, Konkani along with other Indian languages through Radio Spice in the Gulf. He is been all along supported by his Wife Nishita Lewis, daughters Dr. Sushma Lewis & Sumita Lewis and son Sandeep Lewis throughout his venture.
VARIETY PROGRAMMES ON THE DAY
There will be fun filled variety entertainment presented by various creative artists from different Community Organizations of Karnataka in UAE. There will be folk dances, folk singing, comedy skits etc. throughout the evening.
The organizers have requested people to come in large numbers and be a part of this variety entertainment programme.
