Regent International School contributes towards Rashid Paediatric Centre

Dubai, 18 June 2014: Students of Regent International School for the second consecutive year joined hands for a noble cause and contributed AED 10,000 for special needs children of Rashid Paediatric Centre. The proceeds from the fund raising event were presented to the centre which supports children who are differently gifted.

Mr. Mark Hughes, Head of Secondary department, was delighted with the students achievements and said, “Working with the local community and fundraising for charities like Rashid Paediatric Centre is an important part of our students’ learning experience. I was overwhelmed with the team effort and enthusiasm exhibited by our students and proud of their achievement in the humble cause. The students and teachers of Regent International School have together made the event enjoyable and one to be reminisced “

Over 200 pieces of artwork, by students of Regent International School, were displayed at the event. The artworks were creation of children aged 10 to 18, and were highly appreciated by guests at the exhibition.
The evening was kept alive with an impressive show of talent by students of Rashid Paediatric Centre and Regent International School, which included various performances in singing, dancing, drama, poetry recitation, etc. The gala event was complete with the student chefs of Regent International School dishing out an impressive three course gourmet meal for the evening, all created in the school’s very own Food Technology Lab.
“We have always endeavored to nurture in our children the spirit of service for the larger benefit of the community. We are convinced that activities such as this will go a long way in integrating children with the community, and more importantly, help them understand the need to walk with their differently gifted friends hand-in-hand,” added Mr. Hughes.

Artwork made by the students of Rashid Paediatric Centre was auctioned at the event. Guests enjoyed bidding for the masterpieces created by specially gifted children. The Rashid Paediatric Centre is unique in providing a holistic multi-disciplinary approach to special education where each child receives a programme specially designed to meet his or her individual needs.
